Principal Message

Principal Message I would like to welcome you all to A’Takamul School’s Kindergarten web pages. Although the children are still young, it is important we recognize that they have the ability to perform to our expectations.

Our delightful Kindergarten students are offered a broad and balanced curriculum which places emphasis upon the major aspects of children’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. We follow an American curriculum which promotes child-centered learning and will provide your child with a challenging, stimulating environment. We assess your child, informally, every quarter, and those results are recorded in the report that you will receive. The teachers also make written assessments on a weekly basis.

The ages of three years to seven years, are four of the most important years of a child’s academic career. It is during this time that a child develops learning patterns, memory skills and their personality. With your help, we will nurture and encourage your children to become well rounded students, with the ability to perform as individuals and to be able to cooperate in a group. Educating your children is not just teaching them academics but “Life” skills to enable them to succeed in the evolving world of today.

The Kindergarten staff work conscientiously to provide a warm, inviting environment, which incorporates both the school’s mission and values. However, we are only part of your child’s education. You, as parents, are encouraged to become involved in their learning. This site will provide you with information and keep you informed of the curriculum being covered each week. We have many special events during the year. These too will be advertised here.

If you wish to contact the school with enquiries, please call the KG secretary, ext. 211. If you have urgent issues, please contact the Vice Principal, Miss. Kathy, ext. 125.

I look forward to another exceptional year and to meeting you all.

Miss. Sarah Rios
KG Principal
