KINDERGARTEN

We strive to provide high quality care and education in a safe, secure and caring environment. We are an American curriculum school and are accredited by AdvancedEd. This ensures that our curriculum and teaching methods are current, regularly monitored and of a high international standard.

What your child learns at A’Takamul’s Kindergarten will provide the foundations from which they can build on for the rest of their learning throughout life. We recognize that children learn in distinctly different ways at different stages of their development. We will introduce the children to many new skills and concepts covered in the areas below –

·         Personal, social and emotional development

·         Communication and language

·         Physical development

·         Literacy

·         Mathematics

·         Living Values

·         Science/Social Studies (Understanding the world)

·         Expressive arts and design

·         Use of informational technology

The experienced, well qualified, caring staff in KG plans to provide the children with a balance of activities and experiences across the curriculum. We believe that children learn constantly from everything that happens around them. Through careful planning we balance our daily activities between child-initiated and adult–directed experiences. We introduce subjects and teach in ways that correspond to the developmental needs of the growing child. Our strong academic, practical and artistic curriculum is based on building and fostering a child’s natural capacities at each developmental stage.

Here at A’Takamul, we recognize that as parents you are the first and most important educators of your young children. We are very keen that you should feel part of our KG department. Notice boards are situated in both the KG 1 and KG 2 corridors, where you will find details of any forthcoming events or important information, so please check regularly. Regular newsletters are sent home every week to inform you of the curriculum to be covered.Photographs of events happening in school and of field trips are also displayed in the corridors.

Our aim for the children is to develop imaginative qualities and respect for others that will guide and nourish them throughout their lives, and provide a strong foundation for their personal, social and intellectual development. We want to enable them to be practical and take responsibility. These years are where the foundation for learning and life are laid.
